FAQ

1) Why do I need to buy the fax pack to fax over the 3G mobile network

Generally 3G carriers around the world don't support fax over their 3G networks, we have worked in conjunction with VoIP carriers to supply this service to customers. You may find that your carrier offers a fax service but this may be using their 2G network.

2) Will this be a separate service from my existing 3G carrier?

Yes this is a separate service and you will billed by our VoIP carrier.

3) What is involved in setting up the FaxTerminator service?

Purchase an Ericsson W35 fax pack, it will come with instructions and a password. Go to our VoIP providers website where you can log onto their website, choose your value plan and select a landline fax number.

4) How long does it take to setup?

The whole process takes about 20 min to setup the account and put the hardware together.

5) Is the FaxTerminator service reliable?

Yes, from customer feedback the success rate for sending and receiving faxes is around 95%.

6) What fax number will I get?

The fax number will be a landline based number eg, 07 5577 0599 with numbers available in all cities and most regional towns.

7) I have an existing W25//W35 purchased from my carrier, can I use this with the FaxTerminator service?

Yes you will just need to purchase the BYO Ericsson W35 fax pack.

8) Do I need a credit card for billing purposes?

There is an option to prepay via credit card or post pay on account. Download the Business credit account application if you would like to apply for an account.

9) Is internet required to be active on my mobile account?

Yes, as fax calls are routed out via the internet you must have internet available on the W35.

10) How much data will the FaxTerminator service use?

The service will use approximately 0.3mb for each page sent.

11) Will the FaxTerminator service work on 2G?

Tests on 2G networks have proven to be unreliable, a 3G service is required.

12) Can I also use the FaxTerminator service for voice?

Yes, you can use the service to make and receive voice or fax calls

13) How many incoming lines will the service support?

The service will support two lines using the Linksys SPA2100 VoIP adapter. A four line unit is available on request. Each line can have its own landline telephone number.

14) Can I change my plan at any time?

Yes, there are no lock in contracts and you can change your plan at any time. We encourage customers to change plans just before their billing date so that all credit is used up on the old plan first.

15) I only send a few faxes a month is there a prepaid option?

Yes, there is a prepaid option available, whereby you top up your account using your credit card as needed.

16) Why can't I use the Ericsson W35's Fax port?

The SIP or Fax port on the W35 has not been fully developed for all VoIP carriers, therefore we choose to use a separate VoIP adapter to offer a reliable service.

17) Can I use my own VoIP Adapter?

Our Linksys SPA2100 VoIP adapters have been specially programmed for use with the W35 and the 3G mobile networks. If you were to use your own adapter fax calls would more than likely fail.
